Rain Please Just Go Away!

It has rained non-stop for 2 days here in Florida. Most of the streets are flooded and I almost got stuck when I was trying to drive through a puddle that I could not see since it was dark, and the water was probably a foot high because it came to the headlights of my car. Kind of hoping that this continues tomorrow though because the news said that downtown is flooded and I don't feel like going to work tomorrow to work like a dog lol
My editor is still editing, I have to go through and fix up some mistakes, so my book still isn't perfect yet and I have to wait until next paycheck before I can use a picture and reveal the cover.
Got a title for that paranormal romance! :D I think Caught In Between sounds good. Still writing it and since work is busy in the summertime, I haven't had the mental will to write a lot, I only have about 14,000 words written. My goal is 52,000 or 65,000 so I have a looonnggg way to go.

I Now Understand.

I won't mention the series but the last book for one of the many series I'm into came out recently and so I decided to look on the Nook store to see how much it was. $10.99!!! FOR WHAT?! I understand that publishers charge a lot for book bindings, photographers, etc. But shouldn't e-books get a discount?! As a college student who can't even afford to support herself, I cannot pay $11 for a book that I'm only going to read once.
I checked my library and found out that they haven't even bought any new teen books in like 2 years, which I thought was a shock because since I work in the library, I keep seeing loads of new books for children and adults. They didn't even have the e-book version on the website, just the audiobook version and I personally can't stand audiobooks because I have a problem of tuning people out and like to listen to instrumental music while reading books.
I even checked Walmart.com to see how much they're asking. It's still $11.
I now understand why people illegally download books. I don't support it and I never do it (unless it was college textbooks then I'd be all over them like a fly over garbage. Not that I've ever heard of anyone finding any ironically.) because I understand that these are authors' jobs and that it's hard enough to make ends meet as it is. But can't they make books cheaper? Loads more people would be buying the books then. Now I will have to either wait until my boss buys it, finishes it, and lends it to me, or wait until it gets cheaper which will take about a year or two. This seriously sucks!

Thunderstorms and Graduations

My little sister is finally graduating from high school! :D I can still remember when she was little and kept pulling my pigtails.
I hope that these thunderstorms can stop by tomorrow though. We've been having really bad thunderstorms every night for a week! And last week that tropical storm came through. I'm tired of lightning lol I can deal with rain and thunder but am afraid of lightning!

My still untitled book is going strong! I have over 12,000 words written already and it kept me busy when I was internet-less all week last week. So I know I have no fans yet and there's a 99.9% that no one even reads this blog but I want to put a teaser so I am. :)

I think I’m going crazy. Not crazy “my dog just died so now I’m so torn up” crazy or “I’m mad so I’m going to grab a gun and shoot a school” crazy, but the kind of crazy where I need to be locked up with a straightjacket. I sighed as I stared at the white wall of my dorm room while I thought back to my dream, the same kind that I have been having for months. It was usual for a dream, crazy twists and a surreal quality to what could be mistaken for actual life, until he decided to pop up again.
